Compliance Manager
Dr. Opare is currently the Compliance Manager at CAL Asset Management Company Ltd, where he works closely with his team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory laws and directives. He oversees his team in developing and implementing compliance and AML/CFT policies for the company and ensures all compliance reports are prepared and duly shared with all stakeholders and regulators as required.
Dr. Opare was the Manager, Fund Administration and Reporting for CAL Asset Management Company Ltd since January 2022 before his appointment as the Compliance Manager in October 2023. He ensured a smooth running of all fund administrative processes as well as regulatory reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana and the National Pensions Regulatory Authority at CAMCOL. Dr. Opare also has a wealth of knowledge in managing clients and sales from his position as the Client Service and Retail Sales Manager between July 2017 and January 2022.
He is an experienced and dedicated Investment Banker who holds a PhD in Management with specialization in Financial Management from the University of Central Nicaragua, Central America. He holds an MBA from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
Prior to joining CAL Asset Management Company Ltd, Edmund worked with the CDH (Financial Holdings Ltd) as an Accounts Officer and CAL Brokers Ltd as a Front-Line Officer.
Professionally, Dr. Opare is a Certified Data Protection Supervisor and a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana, the Institute of Financial Accountants, London and the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia. He also holds a Fund Manager’s Representative license from the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ghana.
Dr. Opare has over 18 years’ experience in Fund Management and has contributed immensely to the growth of CAL Asset Management Company Ltd.
